He saw it as his destiny to become a soldier and fight alongside his brothers, however no matter how much he trained he was never strong enough. He enjoyed doing blacksmithing in his spare time and forged himself a sword and some armor, even though he never got to put it to use. After a long time of being unable to fight, Alec realised that if he couldn't fight as himself he would need to take on a new form, a stronger form. He spent days in the town library reading up on blacksmiths forging magical armor that enhanced their fighting abilities. Then he went to work and after 5 days spent locked up in his home forging away, he stepped outside holding Alec's Pauldrons .
